Why Second Life?
Not everyone has heard of Second Life. That’s too bad. Because if you want to survive and prosper in an economy that’s changing fast, you need to be able to spot trends fast too.
A winning investor is a man or woman that can make a good guess at what things are going to look like in a few years. A lot of people are betting that we’ll be looking at everything online using something like Second Life.
Tthat’s why smart investors should get familiar with it now.
So what is Second Life? Well, like a lot of cutting-edge tech, it’s easier to use it and experience it than explain it.
But if you’ve ever played a video game, you’re already familiar with it. Those games take place in what are called virtual worlds. They’re three-dimensional environments that you see in your browser. You get a player character called an ‘avatar’ that you can control. Your character goes where you want it to go, and it says what you want it to say. In most video games it doesn’t say much. It mostly just blows up or shoots down different kinds of uglies.
But in Second Life and other platforms, your avatar interacts with other avatars in a real-life way. You can talk, hold meetings, and exchange information. And more: digital designers can build whole environments for you to do it in. That’s right: virtual schools and cities and beaches and apartments and offices. In short: real estate.
What’s that mean for real estate investors?
It means that there’s a whole new world for people to build homes in and buy and sell them.
A world that’s potentially infinite.
